Detail Seminar Helps Take Elite Mobile to the Next Level

Over and over again, we hear from students who have attended our seminars and professional training courses and are implementing techniques they learned there to improve their auto reconditioning businesses. Most are amazed that they can significantly increase their profits simply by upselling and cross-selling additional reconditioning services to their existing customers. This practice can convert a “detailer” to a “full-service auto reconditioning professional.”

Take the following letter we received from the folks at Elite Mobile. It’s a great example of the immediate effect that proper upselling and cross-selling can have on a business…

We at Elite Mobile wanted to say thank you for all the information that we received from the 2-day seminar that we took at Rightlook.com. We were given so much information on how to run a successful detailing business. We have been in business for 3 years prior to attending the seminar, and we were reassured from you that we are doing things the right way. Professional Training - It’s Not Just For Newbies!

Dave Knox, owner of 808 Details in Hawaii, was already running a successful detailing business before he came to Rightlook.com for professional training. A Letter To Rightlook.com

At Rightlook.com, we love to hear how our professional training, equipment, supplies and business support have made the difference in a customer’s business. We received the following letter this week from Tyler Sigler of Brunswick, Maryland. Read on to hear about his positive experience with Rightlook.com, and his excitement to start his new business this spring… 

Dear Rightlook.com Team,

I attended the 2-day seminar November 18th and 19th and just wanted to tell you about my experience with your company. I plan on opening my own auto detailing business in the spring of 2007 which is the main reason I made the trip to Rightlook.com.

I started detailing vehicles for a car dealership in 1997 and ever since I have been fascinated by the industry. Before I came to Rightlook.com I had plenty of useful experience, but was without any form of professional training. I was an excellent detailer, but I was using many old fashioned methods that work well but aren’t as efficient.

After deciding that a fixed location was going to be too expensive, I began looking into a mobile operation. I was extremely skeptical because I have had the luxury of detailing vehicles in a dedicated wash bay.

Most searches on the internet brought up Rightlook.com, including some links regarding the detailing trailers. I called and spoke with Steve Drennon, one of Rightlook.com’s business consultants, and he briefly described the company’s purpose and pointed out the benefits of the trailers. He also sent me a brochure packet in the mail. I was extremely skeptical up until that point. Eventually I made a commitment to come out to California to attend the seminar and check out the trailer line.

I was absolutely blown away by what I learned at the seminar. The trainers are experienced and speak with authority. I learned an entirely different procedure in which to detail a car. Just knowing exactly where to start saves time and makes me more productive. I am using less product, less effort and FAR less water. All of your products are designed with efficiency in mind and produce real results.

I couldn’t have agreed with Mel Craig (Rightlook.com’s Director of New Business Development) more when he said that the sole purpose of detailing is to get the vehicle “back to new”. The premium dressing is without a doubt the best product I have used! When applied properly, it leaves a satin finish…just like a new vehicle. Same goes for the non-greasy leather conditioner. Smother leather seats and dash boards with high-gloss dressing makes any detail look low-rent.

Tools like the pressure washer, Cyclo polisher and carpet extractor make all the different in the quality of work. Before I attended the seminar, I was using a brush, bucket and wet/dry vac to shampoo carpets, leaving behind the soapy residue. I had been using a Porter Cable orbital polisher for the polishing (I’m still shaking!) but I always applied wax by hand. I often used expensive aerosol products for everything imaginable. I now realize the benefits of concentrated professional chemicals.

Your detailing seminar changed my old ways of thinking with regards to pricing and various services I can offer. I was taught that asking top dollar for my services is possible by educating the customer. I learned that experience, training and the fact that I will carry insurance can be used as powerful marketing tools. Without Mel’s advice, I would have always been trying to “undercut the competition” in the attempt to get more business.

Recently I purchased a Rightlook.com trailer with all the equipment necessary to start my business. Both my business consultant Steve Drennon and Stephen Bucharo in the manufacturing department have been extremely helpful in educating me on the use and maintenance of the equipment.

I feel that Rightlook.com has given me the proper information and training to call myself an auto detailing professional. Rest assured that I will be back for more products and training as time goes on. I am really glad I made the trip out to California to see what you guys are all about.
